Granada Buildings

The Starlight Studio is located in the historic Granada Buildings in the Westlake district of downtown Los Angeles. The stardust of a bygone era still hangs in the air. Opened on October 20, 1928, the "Granada Studios and Shoppes" had as one of its first tenants a young photographer named George Hurrell. It was in Suite 9 that Hurrell made his now-legendary portraits of Ramon Novarro and Norma Shearer in 1929. Seventy years later, Mark A. Vieira opened the Starlight Studio in Suite 48 to offer the services shown on this web site.
